It all began with a dollhouse.
I began constructing a modern dollhouse, something I’ve always dreamed of as a little girl. As part of a modern dollhouse, I knew I’d need delicious miniature food for my dollies to (pretend) eat, and as I shopped the stores in town and online I realized that much of dollhouse foods were fairly old-school, limited to Victorian pastries, Sunday roasts, and the like. All were tasty looking and extremely well made, but where was my sushi? My subs? My jamaican patties? Apparently, over 90% of the dollhouse industry caters to pre-1950’s eras, leaving me high and dry.
So I decided to make my own! Very quickly, I realized I enjoyed it – a lot! I made so much, and received so many compliments for my mini creations, that people began asking if they could buy them, and were asking for custom pieces. I had so many lying around, I figured it was a good idea to get rid of them while people wanted them, not wishing to become a crazy old lady with a house full of miniature foods lying about.
And so Mini Mama’s Miniatures began.
